Opening Ceremony
The first official event of the 14th International Handbell Symposium will be the Opening Ceremony. There will be guests of honor at the ceremony. NO DRESS CODE.

Massed Ringing Rehearsals
There will be seven Massed Ringing pieces from the six member guilds of the International Handbell Committee including one piece selected from the Composition Contest. The seven pieces will be featured at the Final Concert scheduled on August 7th. The rehearsals will take place in the Event Hall of the Grand Cube Osaka.

Fun Night
After the Massed Ringing Rehearsal on Day 1, the entire group will take the bus to the KACHOEN (Exotic Flower and Bird Park) in nearby KOBE city. Dinner will be served in buffet style. Enjoy the food, the park, the music and exchange gifts with your brand new friends from all over the world! Please bring many small gifts to exchange.

International Solo Concerts
The International Solo concert is an opportunity for participating choirs/teams to perform in front of the whole group at the symposium. At this symposium, choirs/teams that wish to perform will be featured at the Main Hall in 'concert style' on stage.

Workshops and Culture Classes
A variety of workshops and culture-oriented classes will be offered at this symposium. Clinicians from all over the world will be offering many kinds of handbell classes as well as volunteer teachers will be introducing their home countries culture-oriented classes.

Symposium Choir/Echoes for Peace Choir
The Symposium Choir(s) and the Echoes for Peace Choir(s) are choirs that will be configured at this Symposium for the Final Concert and the Echoes for Peace concert. Ringers of these choirs will meet on all the workshop session time. Intermediate to Advanced ringing technique/experience will be required at these choirs. If you wish to ring and ring and ring at the Symposium, this will be what you are looking for!

Memorial Service

On Day 2, there will be Memorial Service for David R. Davidson. David Davidson is one of the co-founders of this International Handbell Symposium and was scheduled to conduct the Masses Ringing piece representing the AGEHR this summer until he passed away last year.. The service will be conducted by representatives from the HRJ and the AGEHR.

Kyoto Sightseeing Tour

There will be a short excursion to the city of KYOTO on Day 3 planned for the whole group on Day 3. Buses will start leaving the Osaka Convention Center at 7AM and head to the KINKAKUJI (Golden Pavilion) and the Heian Shrine. Enjoy and experience a touch of history of old Japan on this trip.
Please keep in mind that Kyoto at this time of year is WARM HOT HOT and HUMID. We advise you to dress properly for this climate. Packed lunch will be served on the bus.

International Concert 'ECHOES FOR PEACE'

On the 4th night of the symposium, the 'ECHOES FOR PEACE' concert will be held. This special concert will be held with the 14th International Handbell Symposium theme, 'ECHOES FOR PEACE'. The concert will be open to the public and will be an event that will pray for world peace through the art of handbell ringing.
The concert will consist of performances by representing choirs from the participating countries as well as performances by the 'ECHOES FOR PEACE CHOIR' .

Final Concert

Two Final Concert will be held on the final day of the 14th International Handbell Symposium and will be open to the public.
The participants will be assigned to two groups, 'FUJI' and 'SAKURA'. Each group will ring and there will be a total of two Final Concerts held on that day. At this Symposium, all ringers will be able to be a part of the Massed Ringing as well as a part of the audience such that they can enjoy both ringing and listening the Massed Ringing.
At each of the Final Concerts, all the 7 titles will be performed. In addition to the Massed Ringing performance, the 'Symposium Choir'  will also be performing the number practiced during the Symposium.

Closing Ceremony and Final Banquet
The Closing Ceremony and the Final Banquet will be held at the Event Hall. There is no dress code, but we ask that you come in proper attire.
